FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of fabric are your designs made of?

Our designs are crafted from 90% bamboo viscose and 10% lycra, offering a soft, breathable, and flexible fabric that moves effortlessly with the body. Bamboo is a naturally sustainable material, valued for its renewable properties and lower environmental impact compared to many conventional fabrics.

This blend allows our garments to feel silky-soft on the skin while providing gentle stretch, durability, and comfort for dance, yoga, movement, and everyday wear.

We are committed to creating fashion that empowers you while honouring the planet to the best of our ability.

Is bamboo fabric sustainable?

Bamboo is considered a more sustainable textile option because it grows quickly, regenerates naturally, and can require less water and fewer pesticides than many traditional fibres.

At Dancing Dakini Designs, we continue to evolve our practices as part of a slow fashion approach, prioritising thoughtful design, longevity, and responsible production wherever possible.

What does slow fashion mean to you?

Slow fashion means creating pieces with intention.

Each Dancing Dakini garment is designed to last, made in small batches, and crafted to be worn and cherished for years — not seasons. By focusing on quality over quantity, we aim to reduce waste and create timeless designs that honour both personal style and the Earth.

Are your garments ethically handmade in Bali?

Yes. Every piece is ethically handmade in Bali, in the heart of Ubud, by our small team of skilled artisans. We value fair, meaningful employment and take pride in supporting local families through conscious craftsmanship.

Each garment is made by hand with care, attention to detail, and respect for Balinese culture and tradition.

Why are shipping costs higher than expected?

We understand that shipping costs can sometimes feel higher than anticipated, and we appreciate your understanding.

Due to the long-term impacts of Covid, many of the more affordable shipping options previously available in Bali are no longer offered. Current shipping rates are calculated based on the weight of your order and the distance to your delivery location, reflecting the true cost of international shipping today.

Unfortunately, we are unable to discount these rates, as they are set by shipping providers and are beyond our control.

Do you plan to reduce shipping costs in the future?

Yes — we do have plans to open a warehouse in the future to help reduce shipping costs for our customers. However, this option is not yet available.

In the meantime, every order is carefully hand-packed and shipped with love by our small team in Bali.

How long does it take to process an order?

Processing times may vary depending on our current workload, as each piece is handled with care. We always strive to dispatch orders as quickly and efficiently as possible while maintaining quality and attention to detail.

Who can I contact if I have questions about my order or shipping?

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out via our contact page or email. We’re always happy to help.

We kindly ask for your patience and understanding, as shipping timelines and costs are largely beyond our control — and we truly appreciate your support of our small, conscious brand.
